AKCS - Subsea
Joint venture partner, Aker Solutions, is a world leader in subsea control systems, Christmas trees and umbilicals, through all phases of a production system’s lifecycle, including front-end design, project execution, installation, intervention and service support, removal and recycling. Aker Solutions has installed and maintained more than 400 subsea trees, 1000 subsea control modules, and other equipment, including trees from other manufacturers such as Cameron and FMC, as well as its own.
The subsea solutions team is comprised of experienced personnel with indepth knowledge and understanding of designing, supporting and executing subsea projects in the harsh environments of both the Atlantic and the North Sea. This team designed and maintained Schiehallion, the UK’s largest subsea development, executed numerous contracts for the design and supply of subsea production facilities for tieback projects as either an EPM or an EPC contractor, and manage the world’s largest subsea contract, Total Dalia, offshore Angola.
The subsea solutions group is an independent entity. Whilst Aker Solutions is also a major manufacturer of subsea equipment, it is important to note that a large potion of the work of the subsea solutions group is carried out with other companies’ equipment. This independence results in broader expertise and allows the subsea solutions group to engage in competitive procurement from suitable industry sources.
As a global subsea engineering contractor, Aker Solutions has a wide range of knowledge and experience with a variety of subsea support vessels. As such, we are not restricted to a dedicated fleet, preferring instead to charter the best available vessels at competitive rates.
For FPSO mooring support, AKCS can deliver mooring and deck equipment for offshore and marine industries through its partner Aker Pusnes, a world leader in the design, engineering and supply of all types of deck machinery, mooring systems for marine and offshore applications, and state of the art bow loading and offloading systems for both simple and sophisticated operations.
